Never use them for interstate move. Here are few reasons why: 1.The final cost of the service will depend on their weight receipt and might be surprisingly different from the estimate. Worst part of it - you do not have any control of what was actually weighted. 2.If you call them after they pick up your staff they don’t know where your belongings are and when truck is going to arrive to your destination point. They gave me run around for 2 weeks , promised to call back but never did. I was seriously worried if my belongings will arrive at all because with their business model ( 0.79 per pound to haul and 0.60 to compensate for lost items) they could just dump my staff on the side of the road and still make profit. By the way to get those 0.60 out of them is another challenge – they ignored my claims for 7 months after delivery. So consider buying additional insurance. Absolutely unclear how they are going to estimate weight of the items in the lost box - you could have heavy books in it or not so heavy bedding. From the inventory list you will have only box number without any weight estimate. Good luck proving that your lost box was really heavy… 3. My belongings arrived in the different track from what they were loaded to. Who knows how many times my staff was loaded/reloaded to different tracks? No wonder there were scratches on the appliances , broken items in the boxes, lost items. 4. On the day of move movers presented me with bunch of documents to sign in the manner ‘if you do not sign, then we’ll not move’. So you won’t have any leverage to read carefully or decline signing if you already planned your move and do not have luxury to postpone it. If I read those documents before I made decision on movers’ selection then I most likely picked another one. My advice – request all documents they need you to sign before you commit.

I am writing this review in response to the review below, which was brought to my attention by Elephant Moving. And I think I have to come to their defense. Elephant Moving moved me on Saturday the 31st. They had a 4 hour time slot for us based on our quote; they showed up Sunday at 8 am (3 man team) and finished the loading after 1.5 hours. When we arrived to my new apt I realized that the apt I am supposed to move into is not ready. After a short call to Elephant Moving’s office we figured that it will be the best if the crew will wait with us until the apt is ready. The crew ended up having to wait with us almost 3 hours. Elephant Moving was very patient with us, they were clearly late to their next job in order to accommodate my move. They mentioned twice that they need I have to defend them - they were so wonderful in a pinch! to keep going with their day but still they stayed and finished the move that day in a very professional way. They made sure to reassemble everything and put it just where we wanted it. After all this Elephant Moving did us a favor and agreed to drop 3 small items at goodwill. Elephant Moving is a good company and proof of that is the fact that they kept going after my very long move and still accommodated their next customer, perhaps a little later than scheduled but still they showed up and did the job. I think Elephant Moving is a good and trustworthy company and I will certainly use them again.

Excellent experience from the start. Very professional communication and easy to follow inventory list. Showed up a tad late but this was my fault due to address mishap..they started immediately and had 3 guys. Worked as a team and didnt see any goofing off Now mind you this was a day in the 90s with high humidity.I had some very hard to manuever furniture as well and heavy! They protected all of my furniture.I could see fromt he start I was not going to have any issues. Upon arrival to my new apt I am sure they were sitting in there truck about to regret taking this job..steps are steep But no they got out and started right away. Even with a couple boxes that split a little so far I see nothing was broken. Seemed to have a real team way fo doing things and always spoke to me respectively. I appreciated all of it from Elephant moving and I will no doubt use again but I am hoping to not move again!!!I will refer tho!! The other negatives I find on here are surprising I saw no attitude and everything was AAA.I was also on a very tight budget which is not good when moving Kept my same quoted price and no jacking up.
Back in early April, they moved my piano to put it into climate controlled storage. Their movers were courteous and careful. I have been in my new house since July 1 and have phoned them almost every day for 10 days. They have never returned my phone calls. Today I drove to their address, which is not far from my new house. It was an industrial warehouse type space, and another company is using the space now and said Elephant Moving and Storage had moved out. I will pursue every avenue, but at this point, it looks like they have stolen my piano! Wish I could give negative stars. After I posted the above review, they called me, said they had moved location, and have scheduled to bring me the piano. I have thus increased the star rating.

The price quoted was not accurate. They showed up 4 1/2 hours late. They did not have enough room on the truck to move everything because they had furniture (a large sofa for one) from a previous move still on the truck. We were left with numerous items that we will need to move ourselves because of this. I will never even consider using this company again!! They also scratched up two walls and a newly finished bed. They left the dryer vent behind so were unable to hook up my dryer and did not set up one piece of furniture as promised. They did offer to TRY to pick up the left over items, however they could not guarantee they would not charge. We finally recieved a call from the manager only after refusing to pay.
FIND A BETTER MOVING COMPANY! When I got my furniture delivered from out of storage when I moved into my new place, most of the furniture had scratches all over and looked like it had been manhandled. Worse, the furniture was delivered outside of the time frame that we had mutually set up, resulting in my furniture being delivered to the wrong location because I was out of town at the time, which completely defeated the purpose of using a moving company. I had to call the office around five or six times to schedule an additional appointment to have the furniture moved properly, but once we would agree on an additional time, no one ever showed up--for five or six straight times! Very bad experience.
First, I will state the set up for delivery and the business aspect of my transaction was great. They communicated the day/time of delivery very accurately. However, when the movers showed up, we saw a total different side to their company. Jose was one of the movers and showed up with a negative ticked off attitude. Steve, the other mover, made up for this with his positive outlook and smile. Thank you, Steve, for representing your company in a positive manner. It was truly appreciated. Jose, be better..
I regret not looking for reviews first as it seems to be a recurring problem with Elephant. The worst experience I can recall. The quotes were misleading, the charges were all higher than quoted and the workers were incompetent. I had multiple pieces broken and the claim took 7 months to resolve which turned out to be a credit by the pound for broken glassware. On top of that they stored my mattress and carpet upright for 9 months resulting in damage. I strongly encourage people to look elsewhere.
I have moved several times and hired professional movers. Elephant Moving provided me with the best moving service I ever experienced. The sales rep and movers informed me of all available moving/storage options that they offered. The pricing was competitive and reasonable. The two guys who handled my move were professional and very efficient. I have referred several of my friends; and I would definitely use Elephant Moving in Austin for any future moves.
Terrible! This company moved and stored my expensive king size mattress for me when I moved from Houston to Austin. The mattress was delivered with a brown water ring around the entire bottom and it was soaked. It looked and felt like it was sitting in a pool of lake water. The lady that was supposed to be helping me with my claim won’t return any emails or phone calls. It has been more than 5 months now and I am still getting nowhere.
I chose to use elephant moving a couple weeks ago, the two movers showed up early which was a shock. Not only were they early they were courteous and moved my TV, couch, queen bed, and chair. The two moved my things under the minimum time frame of two hours saving me money. Just as a precaution Be sure to watch over any movers to ensure your things are handled properly. Overall it was a good decision and I would recommend them to others.
They were the sub-contractor for a freight delivery. My delivery sat in their warehouse for over a week. On the day of delivery they quoted 9-11 AM. At 11 AM, they said they were 8 minutes away. My delivery finally arrived at 1:00. At the house 3 doors down from me. Bad logistics. Bad expectation management. The guys who delivered were nice (thus the 2 stars).

Moved after 15 years. Had an unbelievable amount of "stuff". The crew was on time and finished ahead of time, so the quote was more than the actual charge(I paid less than the quote)Awesome. Walter and his crew just kept going. Had to take off an 8 ft. tall door to get one item in the house and did it without even asking, just got it done. AWESOME.
TERRIBLE customer service!!! Orna is not a very friendly person. She talks over you, interrupts you, and is not a good listener. She yelled at me and would not even give me a chance. Would not recommend speaking with her, ask for someone else or the manager.
Elephant Moving moved us out of our home near Austin, stored the possessions for a week, and then moved us to North Houston. They did a very good job of taking care of things and we had no damage to speak of. I would definitely recommend them again.
My mom bought me a Christmas present and after two weeks we found out they had it. We kept getting a run around about when they will deliver until we finally had someone very kind enough to go pick it up for us.
Terrible customer service, didnt show up, didnt answer when they didnt show up. Made a phone call in between my phone calls to them because i got a busy signal right after it ringing. Dont waste your time...
Great moving company. moved my piano from the second floor in my house in Austin to my aunts house in Houston. no scratches, no hits. good service without any hidden fees. go elephant ;)
Totally unprofessional, non English speaking crew, left my $2000 fridge in my driveway and refused to simply bring it into my kitchen.
Very friendly crew. My estimate was almost exactly what I ended up paying, they made my moving experience much smoother than usual.
horrible customer service!!! I have no choice than to follow your ridiculous options since you have my items
damaged and lost goods. i feel that i was charged more than agreed upon.
Jay and Travis were within the time window and did an excellent job.
